ST TROPEZ BY NIGHT & DAY
Welcome to what is surely one of the most iconic villages of the Côte d’Azur, Saint Tropez : a perfect blend of glamour and nature that is most definitely worth the trip!
The Port is a must see. Admire the sumptuous sailing boats, the mega yachts and traditional fishing boats all in one place.
Take a leisurely stroll along the cobbled lanes leading to the Place des Lices,where the local market is held every Tuesday and Saturday morning under the plane trees.
Take a climb up to the Citadel dating back to the 17th century, housing a maritime history Museum as well as offering a spectacular panorama of the Mediterranean.
Top Tip: : Why not sample one of the area’s most famous desserts, the renowned Tarte Tropézienne, whilst comfortably seated at Sénéquier’s.
St Tropez is just as well known for its beautiful beaches, the most famous being the very large Plage de Pampelonne, a crescent shaped beach of glorious white sand and azure blue water.
Other more secluded and wilder beaches include the Plage de la Moutte, du Salin, or Gigaro in the direction of la Croix Valmer, equally worth discovering.
If you have any time left, or it’s low season, try the sentier du littoral, or coastal path, starting at the Plage des Canebiers, it’s an easy and pleasant 9km loop trail.
And finally, if you’ve chosen not to partake in the Tropézienne night life, don’t leave without making the detour to Gassin classed as being one of the most beautiful villages in France, with the added bonus of offering a very pretty view over the St Tropez Peninsula.
St Tropez shows it’s other face at night : and it’s the ideal place to party!
Sip a cocktail on the rooftop of the Hôtel de Paris or on the terrace of the Bar du Port, the Tropézien’s local haunt.
There are a multitude of restaurants but for fine dining and the gourmets amongst you, try La Vague d’Or (3*** Michelin) where chef Arnaud Donckele will delight your taste buds.
La Part des Anges or le Pearl Beach are also excellent and more affordable addresses.
